Compare red light panels by what actually reaches your skin.
Brands measure irradiance at different distances, so their headline numbers can't be
compared. RedLightMeter normalizes every panel to a standard 15 cm and labels how confident
we are - measured, estimated, or just claimed.
Irradiance (mW/cm²) is the single most marketed - and most misleading - spec. One brand
reports it pressed against the LEDs, another at 15 cm. We record the claimed value and the
distance it was measured at, then project it to 15 cm using a documented falloff model.
Where independent spectrometer data exists, we use that instead and mark it
verified. Numbers with no stated distance stay flagged as not comparable.
